Young Detroit father's slaying still unsolved

Martin Murray shot dead March 22, 2011 in home on city's east side

DETROIT – It's been nearly a year since 25-year-old Martin Murray was shot and killed at his Detroit home, and the person responsible for pulling the trigger has still not been found.

Murray was found dead by his twin brother March 22, 2011 in the 19000 block of Syracuse on the city's east side.

Police, his family and Crime Stoppers have teamed up to make a public plea for help in solving the murder.

Murray's sister, Jacinta, said her brother was trusting, kind, generous and was the type of person people would go to talk to because they knew he wouldn't pass judgment on them.

"I just hope someone, somewhere knows something and has the heart to stand up against wrongdoing," Jacinta said.

Murray was also a new father to a baby boy.

There is a $2,500 reward being offered through Crime Stoppers in the case. Anonymous tips can be left at 800-SPEAKUP.
