Woman gets 'ugly' message on receipt

RadioShack salesman issues customer refund, along with personal insult

Shanae Lewis walked in to a Montgomery County, Maryland RadioShack recently and walked out with an unusual customer service experience, according to WUSA-TV.

After going back and forth with the salesman over the tax associated with the price of a $20 cassette adapter, Lewis says she decided to just forget the whole thing and get her money back for the adapter. When the salesman gave her back her money, he also gave her a receipt for the refund, at the bottom of which he apparently typed in "ugly itch, ghettohood, usa, tattoville, Maryland."

Lewis says the salesman claims he was only kidding, but she did not find it funny.

"I was shocked more so than anything, and then I became angry," Lewis says.

Lewis contacted RadioShack's corporate office in hopes of getting the salesman fired.

A corporate communications representative for RadioShack responded saying that the company responded immediately after seeing reports in the media and took "the strongest possible disciplinary actions."
