Standoff on Detroit's West Side ends
Woman taken into custody
DETROIT – A woman, who barricaded herself in a home on Detroit's West Side, is in police custody after she allegedly fired shots at a man.
The standoff started Wednesday night in 23000 block of Sunnyside Street. Police responded to reports that a person was shot, but preliminary investigations show no one was hit. During an argument, the 42-year-old woman had allegedly fired shots at a 39-year-old man.
Police were able to arrest the woman at around 2 a.m. Thursday after several hours of negotiating.
