Woman reports being grabbed by van driver in Clinton

19-year-old says driver approached her in area of Coman, Burton streets, grabbed her shirt

CLINTON, Mich. – Police in Lenawee County's village of Clinton are asking for the public's help in tracking down the driver of a van who tried to abduct a 19-year-old woman on Monday.

Police said the woman told them she was walking in the area of Coman and Burton streets just before 8 p.m. when a white van pulled up next to her and its driver asked if she wanted a ride.

When she declined and kept walking, the driver of the van got out and grabbed her by her shirt, telling her to get into the van, police said.

The woman broke free and got away.

Police have put out a picture that isn't the van used in the incident, but is similar in color and style.

Driver description

A white man between 25 and 30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, average build, blondish brown hair and clean shaven. He was wearing a plain white T-shirt and dark jeans.
