DETROIT – The U.S. Postal Service is offering a $25,000 reward for information that leads them to the crook who tried to rob a mail carrier earlier this month in Detroit.

The attempted robbery happened May 1 just before 1 p.m. in the 6400 block of Iroquois Street, when a man pulled a gun on the carrier. The carrier was able to get away without being hurt.

The would-be robber, who is described as being between 17 and 18 years old, escaped in a black Ford Crown Victoria.

The Postal Service has released a sketch and some surveillance video images of the man.
