SHELBY TWP., Mich. – A nine-year-old boy is in the hospital after he was hit by a car while riding his bike.
The accident happened Saturday morning in the 46000 block of Woodall Road in Shelby Township.

According to the boy's family, he may have been trying to get away from a dog when he was struck by the car.
The nine-year-old is in serious condition, but his exact injuries are unknown.
It is not clear if the driver will face charges.
