Man charged in deadly home invasion

19-year-old accomplice shot and killed, wife of victim accidentally shot

DETROIT – The 21-year-old man connected to a home invasion where his alleged accomplice was killed has been formally charged.

Tracy Carlisle was charged with assault with intent to murder, home invasion and felony firearm Saturday morning. He entered a not guilty plea.

According to police, Carlisle and a 19-year-old man broke into a house in 22000 block of Barbara Street in Detroit on Tuesday morning. The male owner of the house armed himself with a gun and ended up shooting and killing the 19-year-old. He also accidentally shot his wife. She was taken to the hospital for treatment and was later released. Carlisle got away, but was later arrested.

Carlisle's bond was set at $150,000.

He faces life in prison if convicted.
