Warm with wet weather on the way
Monday afternoon storms possible with highs in the 80s
DETROIT – Detroit's precipitation deficit is over an inch and a half for 2012 and three quarters of an inch for June. The Motor City area needs rain, and there is some coming today. It is welcome, but will not be enough.
Monday morning will be warm with changes coming. Scattered light showers will move across the Ohio border into Southeast Michigan. Temperatures will begin in the upper 60s with sunshine. A cold front from the west will bring showers and thunderstorms after 2pm and for the ride home from work as highs reach the low 80s. Some storms will have gusty winds and heavy downpours.
Showers linger Monday night and Tuesday. Overnight lows will be in the middle 60s. Tuesday afternoon will be cooler with highs in near 80.
Wednesday and Thursday will bring the need for sprinklers and sunglasses as mostly sunny skies return. Both days will be mild with highs in the low 70s Wednesday and middle 70s Thursday.
Friday and Fathers' Day Weekend become warmer again with highs above 80 degrees.
