Vacant Highland Park apartments burn

Vacant apartment building burns, but no injuries reported

HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. – Fire ripped through a vacant apartment building Tuesday night near Woodward Avenue and Davison in Highland Park.

The smoke could be seen for miles as the fire enveloped the old building. Part of the building collapsed.

Firefighters worked to contain the flames as they watched the abandoned building burn. A nearby house did catch fire but firefighters were able to douse it quickly.

There were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
