4 suspects caught in Lodi Township vandalism case

Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office says 4 boys admit to spray-painting areas on Windmill Way, Stoneridge, Brookeview

LODI TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office says four boys have admitted to being responsible for vandalizing homes and cars earlier this month in Lodi Township.

On Aug. 18, homeowners found obscenities spray painted in black and white in various areas on Windmill Way, Stoneridge and Brookeview.

The obscenities were sexual and racial in nature, but not threatening.

The suspects are 18 years old, two 16 year-olds and a 15-year-old. All are from Saline.

Sheriff's Sgt. Geoff Fox told AnnArbor.com that the vandalism, "was just random acts of stupidity."
Fox says the teens in custody told police they committed the damage but "weren't targeting anyone in particular."

Reports will be forwarded to prosecutors for charges that could include malicious destruction of property.

The teens were released to their parents or guardians.
