Bomb squad investigates suspicious device outside Clinton Township business

Police say device outside Friar's Kitchen and Bakery on Garfield Road was harmless

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Clinton Township police say a suspicious device that was left outside a bakery Wednesday has turned out to be a fake.

Michigan State Police and bomb squad investigators were called to Friar's Kitchen and Bakery on Garfield Road for something that looked like an explosive, but it turned out to  be harmless.

The immediate area, a small strip mall, was evacuated briefly during the investigation.

Police said if they find whoever planted the device, they will press charges.
