Detroit police: Boy, 5, missing after dad fails to give him back to mom
Vashaun Riley-Vance last seen July 30 leaving with biological father, who didn't return him to his mother
DETROIT – Detroit police say a 5-year-old boy has been reported missing after his father didn't return him back to his mother in early August.
Police said Vashaun Riley-Vance was last seen July 30 in the 14900 block of West Chicago when he was picked up by his 24-year-old father, Rico Vance.
The father was supposed to return the boy to his mother on Aug. 3 - but didn't. Since then, police said the father hasn't returned any of the mother's phone calls and can't be located.
Vashaun is described as 3 feet tall, 45 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt that had a Spiderman logo on it, jeans and red/black/white Nike gym shoes.
