Owner back with 4-foot-long iguana found in Farmington, says animal opened door
Farmington police find large female iguana in Warner Farms neighborhood
FARMINGTON, Mich. – Farmington Public Safety officers were called to the 23000 block of Frederick Street in the Warner Farms subdivision near Farmington Road, south of Grand River Avenue, to investigate a report of a large reptile roaming the area.
Officers found a mature female iguana resting on the front lawn of a residence.
The iguana appeared to be healthy. The iguana was transported to Oakland County Animal Control in Auburn Hills.
The reptile's owner claimed it Friday evening. The owner said the iguana normally stays in an enclosed sun porch. However, on Friday, the animal somehow managed to open the door and get out, on it's own.
