Groping reported on, off campus of University of Michigan in Ann Arbor
Alleged assaults take place within 4-day period of each other in Ann Arbor
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – University of Michigan campus police say there have been three recent reported incidents of groping both on and off campus.
Police said they haven't confirmed that the incidents are related, but the descriptions in each are similar.
A student reported that as she walked in the Ruthven Museum, a man approached her – talking in Chinese. He rubbed her elbow and grabbed her butt during the encounter. Police describe the man as Chinese, 5 feet 7 inches with an average build, short hair with a clean appearance.
A student says an Asian male grabbed her leg and chest during a Michigan football game viewing event. The man in that incident is described by police as Asian, 5 feet 6 inches with a stocky muscular build, black buzz haircut, clean shaven. He was wearing a baseball hat with light pink shorts and blue sunglasses.
Police said a student reported being grabbed by a man in her chest and genital area off campus in the 1800 block of Washtenaw Avenue. She screamed and the man ran away. Her attacker is described by police as Asian, 5 feet 6 inches tall. He was wearing a baseball hat.
