ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – Criminal charges have been dropped against the driver who hit Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson's car on Aug. 10 in Auburn Hills.
Anthony Prainito, of Royal Oak, was the driver of the other vehicle. He was charged with three counts of a moving violation causing serious impairment of a bodily function -- a misdemeanor that is punishable with up to 93 days in jail.
On Thursday, the charges were dropped after both parties told a judge the issue had been resolved. However, Prainito still got a civil infraction for failing to yield -- a $125 fine which has been paid. He also paid a seatbelt charge which is $65.
