Water main break floods street on Detroit's west side

Residents on Cortland Street say main has been repaired before

DETROIT – A water main break is flooding a neighborhood street on Detroit's west side.

Local 4 cameras were on the scene Monday morning on Cortland Street -- which is off Livernois Avenue south of the Davison -- across from Hope Academy.

Residents in the area said the flooding started Sunday night and the main was just recently repaired for another break.

"All of us, our water pressure is extremely low along with the water being all in the driveway and messing up the cars," said Ebony Brady.

Local 4 called the Detroit Water Department and a crew showed up around noon to begin fixing the break.
