Former Inkster students to find out where they'll be going to school next year
Public meeting planned for Thursday evening
WAYNE, Mich. – Parents who have children within the Inkster school system will have a better idea Thursday what schools their children will be attending this fall.
A 6 p.m. public meeting has been called at the Wayne Regional Educational Service Agency on Van Born in Wayne to address the major issues related to the state dissolving the Inkster School District based on insolvency issues.
Expected to take place at the meeting:
- The official dissolving of the district
- New district boundary lines announces
- Students will be sent to schools in the following neighboring districts: Wayne-Westland, Romulus, Taylor and Westwood
Monday, Inkster school officials met a state deadline to show that it had secured funding to open its schools this upcoming school year.
Inkster schools said they have a debt reduction plan, yet that plan was not accepted by the state, therefore it could not secure a bank loan to help them run their schools for a year.
