University of Michigan med student's death remains mystery
Ann Arbor police investigating 25-year-old student's death as homicide
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – University of Michigan medical student Paul DeWolf, 25, was scheduled to perform a procedure Wednesday morning at the Veteran's Hospital.
However, when the 3rd-year medical student did not show up a colleague went to his Ann Arbor apartment where he found DeWolf's body and called 911.
"I would like to know about what happened. It certainly makes me nervous walking around here, until we find out exactly what happened," said Tara Lavelle, a student who lives nearby.
DeWolf lived at the Phi Rho Sigma fraternity house with a handful of other medical students. It's in the 200 block of North Ingalls which is only about a block from campus.
"I was just really saddened, you know, I work for the medical school so when there's a loss of life, it's always a sad thing," said Pete Kleymeer.
The Ann Arbor Police Department is investigating the death as a homicide as a result of preliminary results from the Washtenaw County Medical Examiner's office.
