Victim shot, crashes car outside old Kronk Gym

DETROIT – Detroit police are investigating an apparent road road incident that ended early Monday morning with one man dead on the city's west side.

Police said the victim was shot several times just before 4 a.m. at a gas station near McGraw and Warren. He managed to drive about a block away but crashed his car into a tree at 33rd and McGraw -- which is outside the old Kronk Gym.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name wasn't immediately released.

Witnesses said they saw people in two cars arguing near a Marathon gas station before they began shooting at each other.

The owner of the gas station told Local 4 the shooting happened beyond the scope of his security cameras.

Police are still looking for the gunman.
