Dearborn police issue warning about 'Apple picking'

Police say there's been an increase in thieves stealing iPhones

DEARBORN, Mich. – Dearborn police said they've seen an increase in iPhone thefts, also known as "Apple picking."

In a crime alert, police said iPhones are attractive to thieves because they can sell them quickly.

Thieves are snatching the phones out people's hands in public places.

Police with iPhones are being warned to keep it out of sight or always be alert when using it.

Police also suggest downloading the "Find my iPhone" app.
