CLEVELAND – The Coast Guard assisted the Michigan State Police late Saturday night in rescuing four kayakers who were reported missing in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Three adults and one child failed to check in while kayaking on the Manistique River.
The four people were in two kayaks.
Around 8:30 p.m., the Coast Guard's 9th District headquarters in Cleveland received a request from the Michigan State Police to assist in locating the kayakers.
An aircrew stationed out of Traverse City wet up and quickly located the missing kayakers using night vision goggles.
The Coast Guard is not releasing their names at this time.
