Woman facing DUI charge after wild scene in Lenox Township

Car found flipped in road, driver found sitting in field

MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – A woman is facing DUI charges Friday after a wild scene played out in Lenox Township.

It all happened on Lowe Plank Road Tuesday night around 9 p.m. Drivers spotted a car flipped over in the middle of the road, but no one was inside.

Multiple people made calls to 911 to report the scene.

During one 911 call the dispatcher asks the caller to check out the field near the crash site.

That's when the driver was found.

The woman was not thrown from the vehicle but rather she got out, walked away and just sat down.

As the caller approached the woman in the field, she can be heard on the 911 call telling them to, "Go away."

Police say the alcohol in her system was nearly four times the legal limit and this is the woman's third drunk driving offense.
