Monday is voter registration deadline in Michigan

Voters can register by mail or in person

DETROIT – Monday is the last day to register to vote for the November elections in Michigan.

To register, applicants must be at least 18 years old by the election day and be U.S. citizens. Those individuals must also be residents of Michigan and of the city or township in which they wish to register to vote.

Voters may register by mail or in person at their county, city or township clerk's office. They can also visit any Secretary of State office.

Officials say elections are being held in 75 of Michigan's 83 counties on November 5. The polls will be open on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
