Woman tells deputies that man she met online choked her, assaulted her when they went on date

PONTIAC, Mich. – The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is investigating the sexual assault of a woman Sunday night in Pontiac.

The 18-year-old Rochester Hills woman told deputies she was on a date with a man she had met online when things started to go terribly wrong.

The woman said she and the man stopped at the Huron Liquor store at Woodward Avenue and M-59 where the man tried to force himself on her. She refused his advances and the man began to choke her, leaving bruises around her neck.

After that, the man drove her to a Walmart parking lot at Adams Road and M-59 in Rochester Hills. That's where he forced her into the back seat of the car and sexually assaulted her.

The woman was taken to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment and a rape kit.

Deputies have identified the suspect, a 21-year-old Roseville man. An investigation is ongoing.
