Cold weekend coming

Expect rain and snow showers in metro Detroit

DETROIT – We have low clouds dropping drizzle and fog around SE Michigan this Friday morning. A cold front is slowly moving through and will cool us off starting this afternoon.

We will see a couple of rounds of light rain and perhaps a bit of a wintry mix. Highs in the mid 40s falling into the upper 30s this afternoon. Winds WNW 10-17 mph with higher gusts. Later in the day, it will turn breezy and cooler with a slight chance for a few snow showers. The cool breezes will continue Friday night and cold winds will blow in for the weekend.

You can expect some light snow for parts of the weekend along with cold temps and windy weather setting us up for some single digit wind chills.

Highs Saturday may make into the low and mid 30s but it will feel much colder. Snow showers will be scattered, so not everybody will see snow tomorrow, but parts of the state will get heavy lake snow.

We will only see teens and  20s Sunday with a feeling much more like the dead of winter but we will see mostly to partly sunny skies.
