LIVONIA, Mich. – Livonia police are investigating two instances of Molotov cocktails being thrown at windows of two homes this week in the 28000 block of Elmira Street.
At about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, police officers were called to a home on a report of an arson. They found a Molotov cocktail which had been thrown at the house's front window. The window wasn't broken but it had sustained minor fire damage.
The second incident happened Thursday afternoon -- about 1:15 p.m. -- at a home a few doors down from where the first Molotov cocktail was thrown. This time, the incendiary device was tossed at a window at the back of the residence. The window wasn't broken and there was only minor damage to the outside of the house.
Police believe two suspects were involved in both of these arson attempts. One suspect is described as a black man in his early 20s standing about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing all dark clothing.
Two suspect vehicles were involved. Both are black in color. One is an open bed pickup truck and the other is a two-door sedan.
Anyone with information on these incidents should contact the Livonia Police Department at 734-466-2318.
