Detroit teen dies after touching downed wire
14-year-old boy was in ciritcal condition after touching downed electrical wire
DETROIT – A 14-year-old Detroit boy died this weekend about a week after he touched a downed electricial wire.
The boy, Malik Shelton, was on Lyndon near Lauder on Nov. 18 walking to Burns Middle School with three other boys when he picked up the wire.
Police said his friends jumped into action and were able to use a piece of wood to break the teen's hand away from the wire.
He was rushed to a hospital where he had been in critical condition until he died Saturday.
Funeral arrangements should be set up by Tuesday.
