Santa's Magic Forest opening in Taylor

'Downriver's finest holiday display' opens Saturday

TAYLOR – Beginning Saturday, Nov. 30, the annual Santa's Magic Forest will open to the public.

Santa's Magic Forest, known as "Downriver's finest holiday display" is an indoor winter wonderland featuring hundreds of animated characters, Christmas scenes and light displays set up throughout Heritage Park in Taylor.

Volunteers from Fish and Loaves Community Food Pantry operate the display and all proceeds will support the pantry's mission of feeding the hungry and needy throughout the year in Taylor and the surrounding communities of Allen Park, Brownstown Township, Dearborn Heights, Romulus, Southgate and Woodhaven.

To celebrate the opening for the season everyone is invited to welcome Santa to Heritage Park when he arrives by fire truck at noon on Saturday.

The Magic Forest will be open weekends through Dec. 22 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays.

Admission is $3 per person, $2 for children 10 and under
