DETROIT – The Old Newsboys' Goodfellow Fund of Detroit has raised more than $490,000 in donations this year, but still needs more donations to fuel its "No Kiddies Without a Christmas" campaign and reach a fundraising goal for 2013.
The organization hopes to raise $1.2 million by the end of its fiscal year, January 31, 2014. So far, $491,824.98 was raised, which is nearly 41% of the goal.

Many of the donations are coming from sales of a special "Goodfellow edition" of The Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press. The newspapers are sold for any donation amount. The organization's funds help provide holiday gift packages to needy children in the Detroit area.
