Woman held at gunpoint, man shot in the leg at Frenchtown Township apartment

Gunman flees Cedar Creek apartment complex after early morning incident Wednesday

FRENCHTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Michigan State Police are looking for a man who put a gun to a woman's head early Wednesday morning and also shot another person in the leg.

Police said the incident happened just after midnight in the Cedar Creek apartment complex in Frenchtown Township.

The woman was walking up to her apartment when the gunman confronted her and held her at gunpoint while trying to break down her apartment door.

Police said a man inside the apartment opened the door, struggled with the gunman, and ended up being shot in the leg.

The gunman, who was dressed in dark clothing and had a mask covering the lower part of his face, then fled.

Police said the woman wasn't hurt and the man's gunshot wound isn't life threatening.

Police didn't release a detailed description of the gunman, but anyone who might have information on the incident is asked to call the Michigan State Police Monroe Post at 734-242-3500.
