Investigation underway after altercation recorded outside Old Shillelagh

Cellphone video shows 2 men thrown out allegedly by bouncers on Opening Day in Detroit

DETROIT – An investigation is underway after cellphone video recorded outside the Old Shillelagh shows two men violently thrown out by bouncers.

Opening Day in Detroit always brings massive crowds downtown and most behave themselves, but there are always the exceptions.

Detroit police were busy that day on all sorts of drunk and disorderly calls.

A Local 4 viewer captured video of a fight outside the Old Shillelagh bar, showing bouncers evicting two men from the bar in a not very gentle way.

In the video one man goes down, smacks his head and then stays down. He appears unconscious.

The other man was thrown to the ground as well, but he's conscious.

Local 4 contacted the bar, who said they're aware of the incident and are investigating.

Because of a concern over potential litigation, the bar wouldn't discuss the details but did say what was captured on video is only a small portion of what went down inside and outside the bar.

Officers with the Detroit Police Department and a Border Patrol agent in the area were at the scene and tried to diffuse the drama.
