The annual Bookstock used book sale, currently taking place at Livonia's Laurel Park Place, has raised nearly a million dollars for local literacy programs during it's 12-year history.

The massive sale runs until May 4.

"It's the perfect recycling," said honorary chairman Neal Rubin. "We're getting books out of people's basements and back into people's laps."
