Farmington Hills police issue alert after break-in attempt

Police report 2 incidents in 2 days

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Farmington Hills police have issued an alert after a resident reported seeing someone trying to break in early Tuesday morning through a patio door.

Police said the incident happened around 3 a.m. in the area of Barbados and 11 Mile roads.

The would-be intruder was scared away before he could get in.

Police describe him as white, in his late 30 to early 40, around 6 feet tall with spiked gray hair. He was wearing a dark colored varsity-style jacket, blue jeans. He also had a duffle bag.

The attempted break-in comes just one day after police said a home in the area of Colgate and Grayfield was broken into. The intruder in that case got in through a rear window. Police didn't say if anything was stolen.
