Three people shot, one dead in Monroe County

Gun fight leaves 32-year-old Romulus man dead

LONDON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 32-year-old Romulus man was shot and killed during a confrontation early Sunday morning in the 14000 block of Rawsonville Road in London Township, Michigan.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Department, the Romulus man was fighting a 35-year-old man from Taylor outside of the Rawsonville address.

Several people tried to break-up the fight but were unsuccessful. The 39-year-old homeowner got a gun from inside his home and fired three warning shots into the ground.

People scattered for a moment then the fighting resumed.

The Romulus man went to his car and returned with a gun. He shot the man from Taylor in the chest.

Seeing this, the homeowner shot and killed the man from Romulus.

During the gunfire, a 38-year-old woman from Brownstown Township was shot in the hand. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a minor injury to her right index finger.

The investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office continues.
