Cool temps, cloudy skies linger in metro Detroit

DETROIT – Skies are filling up with clouds but the rain is holding off to our south and will likely hold off for most of the afternoon.

Highs today around SE Michigan will struggle mainly in the mid 50s with cooler winds NW 5-10 mph. Don't worry too much about wet weather today as we only expect a few sprinkles or light showers scattered after 5pm. There's another chance for light rain later tonight around 9 or 10 p.m.

We will be dodging a few rain showers Saturday too. Thicker clouds and north winds will keep temperatures in the mid 50s tomorrow. Those scattered rain showers will be around early in the morning and then again through the afternoon. We won't see a widespread washout on Saturday, but it will feel a bit more like Fall than Spring.

Sunday is the better weekend day for outdoor enthusiasts. This will be our better chance more sun and dry air trying to help temps rebound into the low 60s. Temps take off into the 70s again next week.
