Malcolm Gladwell to keynote 2014 Mackinac Policy Conference
Best-selling author to discuss lastest book, "David and Goliath"
Best-selling author Malcolm Gladwell will be the keynote speaker at the 2014 Mackinac Policy Conference.
Gladwell is a familiar name at the top of best-seller lists, with titles like "Blink," "The Tipping Point," "Outliers," and his most recent book, "David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of Battling Giants."
Gladwell will discuss his latest book, and its message about overcoming obstacles with thought-provoking educational and entrepreneurial examples. The five time best-selling author will apply these lessons to Detroit and Michigan in the globalized world.
In "David and Goliath," Gladwell challenges the conventional wisdom that being disadvantaged is always a disadvantage in the quest to achieve success – in other words, underdog status can be an asset. It's a theme likely to resonate with the audience from southeast Michigan gathered at Mackinac.
