Some Woodhaven businesses evacuated because of spill

Unspecified spill happens on property of Buckeye Terminals

WOODHAVEN, Mich. – About 10 businesses in Woodhaven were evacuated Monday afternoon because of a spill on the property of Buckeye Terminals.

Police said a fuel truck that was making a delivery on the property spilled some of what it was carrying, which prompted the precautionary evacuation of businesses on the east side of West Road near Allen Road.

No injuries were reported.

Crews used foam to contain the spill, but police are asking people to avoid the area.
The Detroiter Truck Stop was also evacuated.
