Cooler temps to start the week, but it'll get warmer

Harlan, Scillian, Gaidica, Smilovitz.

We told you it was coming…now it's here!

Before getting to the forecast, a quick but important piece of advice:  if you'll eventually be filing an insurance claim due to yesterday's storms, MAKE SURE YOU WRITE DOWN THE DATE AND TIME THAT THE DAMAGE OCCURRED.  Your insurance agent will need this information and, I know this sounds crazy, but most people forget the date.  Trust me on this, I've been getting calls about this over my entire thirty-one year career here at Local 4.

Alright, on to the forecast, which is shaping up exactly as we told you last week what to expect…which is a week of below average temps (although slowly improving as the week progresses).

Skies will eventually become partly cloudy tonight, with lows dropping down into the low 50s…perhaps upper 40s in the coldest suburbs.  Northwest wind at 4 to 8 mph.  The rest of this forecast is going to sound like a broken record.

Partly to mostly cloudy Tuesday, with scattered afternoon showers and possible thunderstorms.  Highs in the low 70s.  West wind at 8 to 13 mph.

Showers rapidly diminish Tuesday evening, then becoming partly cloudy.  Lows in the low to mid 50s.

Partly cloudy Wednesday, with scattered afternoon showers and possible thunderstorms.  Highs in the mid 70s.

Showers rapidly diminish Wednesday evening, then becoming partly cloudy.  Lows in the mid 50s.

Partly cloudy Thursday (the only day this week where I'm comfortable taking rain out of the forecast…chances are not zero, but they're pretty small).  Highs in the mid 70s.

Partly cloudy Thursday night, with lows in the upper 50s.

Partly cloudy Friday, with scattered afternoon showers and possible thunderstorms.  Highs in the mid 70s.

Showers rapidly diminish Friday  evening, then becoming partly cloudy.  Lows in the upper 50s.

Partly cloudy both Saturday and Sunday, with scattered afternoon showers and possible thunderstorms.  Highs both days near 80, with overnight lows near 60.

Note:  some computer models try to diminish our scattered shower chances on Sunday, but the normally reliable ECMWF model says to keep them in the forecast.  I'll keep an eye on this.
