Mostly sunny, cool Tuesday afternoon

DETROIT – Tuesday will be cool, but skies will be mostly blue with the mercury going in the right direction: up. It will be warmer by the end of the week.

Skies become mostly sunny by lunchtime and partly sunny during the afternoon. With a northwest wind blowing 6 to 12 mph, afternoon highs will be near 65 degrees. Students can expect to have outdoor recess and cooperative weather for after-school practice and events.

Tuesday evening will be fair and cool with temperatures in the upper 50s.

Tuesday night becomes chilly, again, under fair skies. Overnight lows will be in the 40s by Wednesday morning. Wednesday afternoon will be milder with more sunshine and highs near 70 degrees. Thursday will be cooler with daytime temps in the middle 60s, but the end of the work week and the weekend will be warmer with highs near 70 or a bit more. Temps have a chance of reaching the middle 70s next Sunday.
