2 armed men try robbing people in Grosse Pointe Park

Armed robberies similar to 2 robberies last Sunday

GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. – Police are investigating after two armed men tried to rob two people in the street Saturday in Grosse Pointe Park.

It is not an area where some would expect a robbery, but that could be why the thieves are targeting people there.

The incident is very similar to two robberies last Sunday.

The first robbery happened in Grosse Pointe Farms at Mack Avenue and Manor Street, where a person was robbed by two armed men.

Minutes later, two armed men targeted someone in Grosse Pointe Park at Lakepointe and Saint Paul streets. The men took off with the victim's money, iPhone and wedding ring.

Both robbers are described as black men wearing all dark clothing and hats.

The vehicle description of the two robberies do not match, but investigators said the car used in the first robbery could have been ditched before the second one.

Besides marked vehicles going up and down the normally quiet streets, neighbors Local 4 spoke to said they hadn't seen anything out of the ordinary.
