MSP conducting operation C.A.R.E.: Combined Accident Reduction Effort

DETROIT – As drivers hit the road over the Thanksgiving holiday, the Michigan State Police is conducting Michigan's largest operation: C.A.R.E., which stands for combined accident reduction effort.

The traffic initiative kicks off Wednesday and goes through the weekend.

MSP will be increasing patrols, cracking down on impaired driving, seat belt use, speeding and careless driving.

Thanksgiving is the second deadliest holiday in Michigan for traffic crashes.
