Detroit City Council works to replace Saunteel Jenkins

Interviews being held Wednesday

Saunteel Jenkins joined Devin Scillian to talk about why she left the Detroit City Council to become the CEO of THAW.

DETROIT – Detroit's city council will hold interviews to find a replacement for Saunteel Jenkins Wednesday.

Five candidates are being considered to fill the position as an 'at-large member of council'.

They are Beverly Kindle Walker, Debra Walker, Tyrone Carter, Paula Humphries and Kenneth Donaldson.

Each candidate will be publicly interviewed for 45 minutes.

 Council's appointment will serve the remainder of Saunteel Jenkins' term.

 She left council to head 'the heat and warmth fund' - also known as "THAW."
