We asked Local 4 viewers on Monday to share their stories of good samaritan activity during the recent snow storm on Facebook. We recieved an overwhelming number of responses. Here are some of the best:
Tina McWhorter - Our neighbor's grandson has plowed the entire street and all our driveways. Helped the ones that were stuck too! We are all getting him a gift card.
Mary K Doebler - Ever since my husband passed away 76 years ago my neighbor who lives two doors down from me will always comes over every time it snows hard like this and plows my driveway for me ... will not take money from me and said he was raised to do good by others. Thank you Eric Erickson from the bottom of my heart.
Dena Fetters Zdunski - I live in Clay Twp. Buried my car in a snow bank. A local business owner Andy Barney tried to plow me out, didn't work. He went back to his shop, got a tow strap and pulled me out. He REFUSED to take any money then made sure I got down my street. I love small town USA!
Kevin Gaty - Went to the sled hill yesterday with my 8 year old daughter. And we got stuck afterwards due to a snow squall. Thank goodness for the Spartan fans that helped us out. Just made me a fan. Thanks guys.
Kayla Shurlow - I've been trying to go out and shovel each time my baby takes a little nap, but it's easier said than done! She has been sick and not sleeping well. I looked out my window and saw the neighbors from next door, across the street, and down the street shoveling me out! When I thanked them they said they know I have a little one and if I need to leave, they wanted to make sure I could! It's a great feeling to know they care when for a couple years, you feel like no one ever even notices you live there!
Marie Kuchenmeister - My husband Ryan has been digging out our neighborhood with his trusty #johndeere. Our road rarely gets plowed or salted, and we have quite a few elderly neighbors. He was out until 1130 last night, got up and did more this morning before work and plans to do more after. He's already gotten a few people unstuck! #nothingbeatsadeere
Bryan Lynn Fowler - My partner was stuck in the entrance of a gas station this morning for about an hour. He called the record tow company and they said it was a 5 hour wait!! Thank God two gentlemen came by and helped him get out. The store clerk tried to assist by shoveling, but it was too much snow. Thanks again to the two wonderful men who helped him out on Newburgh & Ford. God Bless you!

Vickie Sparks Linderwell - My 20 year old son, Donald Jordan got up at 6:30 this morning and shoveled the drive way and end of drive so I could get out and go to work this morning...I didn't ask him too...he spent 1 1/2 hours doing it, just for me...that touched my heart!
Diane Schroeter - Noone can say Detroit is a terrible city. I am 65 yrs. old and am in good physical health and incidentally a white female who lives on a corner in north Detroit. Yesterday, my neighbor across the alley snow-blowed my whole side sidewalk about 4:00 pm. Then, my next door neighbor Shoveled my whole front walk, walkway to the house and front porch. When offered money, he said he knew I couldn't do it and was bored and turned it down. 5:00 am today my neighbors across the street who own three adjacent properties including their corner came and snow-blowed my entire corner, then shoveled both my side and front entrances and porches and side drive and once again, refused any money. To top it off, I went out this pm to clean whatever needed it and a young man walking asked if he could help, which he did, and continued on his way. If any of you see this, I will somehow make it up to you but here's a GIGANTIC THANK YOU!!!! I was Born and raised in this house, lived here most of my life and I Believe in Detroit and it's' people. God Blessed me with wonderful neighbors (none of whom are Caucasian which makes no difference to me) and I believe in Detroit vs. everybody. God Bless this wonderful city and the wonderful people in it. Thank You for reading this. Stephanie Berendt - My kids shoveled for the neighbors because they didn't want them to hurt their backs.

Pamela Moberley - Two nice guys pulled me and my car home from work last night, with a chain! My neighbor has done my driveway twice. As soon as I can get outta the house I'll pick them up a few things at the store.
Ashley Sizemore - We came home about 11 last night and there were three cars stuck on our street. We helped push some and in return when we got stuck pulling into our drive, four men came and shoveled my car and driveway out. We've only been at our house a couple months and haven't really met any neighbors so we were very appreciative of the kindness. My boyfriend ended up having a beer with them afterwards.
Tiffani Mae Ferguson - My husbands at work and I have my 2 year old son home with me, we got all bundled up to go out and shovel, I looked out and someone with a blower is out there doing it already. Good guy!
Kimberly Slusarczyk - I had to pull my car out so my husband could get his work truck out to go to work I backed out and went around the block and got stuck at the corner in my pjs and no phone a gentleman coming down the street stopped and got out and pushed me threw just as he got me out another lady was stuck the opposite way and he was off to help her!
Jennifer Lockhart - My teenage son and I got outside this morning at 5 am he had no school and I had the day off. I woke him up and said we are paying forward today he said okay so we headed down our block with the snow blower and shovel.
Linda Auwers - My next door neighbor helped me unearth my car after the plows buried it. 7 am and we both got it out. Thank you Barb!
Susan Danuloff - Woke up in Waterford to find some Angels had snow blowed half of our drive, don't know who but thank you and bless you.

Jennifer Mattison - My mom got stuck turning onto a side street from the service drive at 6:30 am this morning. 2 guys stopped to help as well as a woman who came out if her house in pj's to help dig her out. One of the guys even used his SUV to help push her car out of the ruts. Thank you helpful strangers! There's still hope for this world.

Deborah Ridenour - Saw an Oakland county sheriff pushing a car out of a snow bank in Pontiac. With all the bad press about police I really wanted to pull over and film it. I have never seen a police officer work so hard at something that was not at all his job, he must have been freezing in those uniform pants. Really meant a lot to me.
Eric Vogel - As usual our complex is a little slow to get done. I got myself stuck so a husband wife team helped me and part of the road and I did a bit around their car. Then a guy got stuck so we helped him. I got stuck in the exit but could back up. So all four of us cleared the exit.
Caroline Thursam - I don't know who my hero is, but I was on East bound 15 mile turning South onto Groesbeck when I got stuck. This guy was going North on Groesbeck, circled around behind me, pushed me out and went right back where he came from.
Betty Jo Atkins - My good Samaritan neighbor plowed my drive & walk without my asking & I am so so grateful.
Olivia Vance - Yesterday the elderly man who lives across the street got his plow tractor stuck in the ditch.....thank God my dad was home to go help him get it out.
Bobette Dodge - My neighbor John cleared my car and got it through the snow plow hump and his wife Johanne shoveled my walk so I could get out and get to work. Thanks, good neighbors!

Carol Hupert - My husband always does the sidewalks of both our neighbors and they return the favor just a matter of who gets out there first. The same goes for our friends across the street, we live on a great cul-de-sac.

Vickie Kasper - Yesterday our neighbor named Craig plowed the entire block all the way around. Over and over. Even plowed the sidewalks leading up to the houses. Then his wife knocked on the door this morning offering up a space in their driveway for our little VW bug so DPS could plow and not bury our car. We don't even know these neighbors yet. We just moved to RO this late fall. Ferndale and Royal Oak neighbors are paying it forward. I've never seen anything like this in my life! Go on their forums and read. Amazing people!

Kimberly Harless - My neighbor Skip has been digging all of us on the block which is a dirt road with a hill all night and again today. I appreciate him because my husband had heart surgery in December plus most of our street is people that have been here for more than 25 years. Skip grew up around the block and bought the house from my father in law 15 years ago. He and his family help out all the time. They are a great family.
Elizabeth Quirk - Someone from Ingram Slotting & Machine in Livonia helped me finish my shoveling and then he went and did my disabled neighbors drive! What a great person!

Sandy Scott - In September my husband had heart surgery. I had mentioned trying to find someone to take care of the snow for us. My next door neighbor said he would be happy to do it. We care for his cats when he goes on vacation so trading off is a good thing. Also someone came down the main sidewalk this morning and cleared the whole side of our block.

Jonathon Kogowski - I got stuck on Ford and Merriman in a stalled out car and two people stopped their cars and helped push us into CVS.
Melanie Thompson Philipp - Saw a pizza delivery man get stuck. He got out of his car and walked half a block to deliver the pizza! The guy that ordered the pizza and I dug and pushed until he was finally free. He deserved a good deed for still delivering a warm pizza!

Cindy Marks - I live in Croswell one of the nicest communities. Everyone on our block helped clean out driveways and sidewalks. My brother just had a very serious surgery and my neighbors Gary and Barbara Albrecht went to his house and shoveled his sidewalk and driveway. It's what neighbors do for one another was their response when my brother thanked them. I love our small town and the wonderful people who live here.

Jennifer Yakubesan - We have AWESOME neighbors. They were out doing the main sidewalks and large drifts in driveways yesterday. Again today they are at it. We have a small snow blower that hubby just put gas in this morning. Without our neighbors we would be totally stuck! I had the stomach flu this weekend, so it really was awesome that they helped keep up our driveway so that my husband could take care of me and watch our son!

Cindy Studaker Yeager - My brother in law plowed out our driveway & his last night, & 3am this morning. He got called into work early. When I got up to get ready for work, you couldn't tell it had been touched. I shoveled the driveway to the mouth of the drive, & our young gentleman neighbor Jarod had his 4 wheeler with the plow on the front finished for me & got the heavy stuff & he cleared my sister & brother in laws driveway so my brother in law wouldn't have to do it again when he got out of work. Megan Thornton - A man named Rusty and his wife took 45 minutes of their time to rescue me from being stuck on a side road yesterday. All I know about them is that they own a horse farm near ford and godfredson. I'd really like to give them a thank you if anybody knows them!
Annie Sadecki - The neighbor in my apartment complex helped me by digging my car out for me. I'm a single mom and we are so grateful that my daughter made him a thank you card. This was greatly appreciated, especially since my apartment complex STILL hasn't cleared our walkway and sidewalks. (Very disappointing I might add.)
Sara Ashton Krystal Norris - Shoveled my entire driveway for me on Sunday evening. I was so grateful as I'm a new mom and getting outside to clean up was not something I could do.
Heather Strang - My neighbor, Rita Kramer, with a torn ACL, snowblew my driveway three times...what a great friend and neighbor!!!
Tye Angela Green - Sons helped Neighbor, who recently had a heart attack. Then helped push a young Woman who was completely stuck in the snow. Good Boys who expected nothing in return.
Chuck Langley - Plenty of good deeds to go around. Here in Howell my neighbor loaned me his blower as mine is down, another neighbor used his riding mower/snow blower to clear the main walk on our entire block, both sides. Nice to see/hear good news for a change
Brian Perry - My neighbors across the street on woodingham shoveled my car out that was stuck in the driveway and they shoveled my walkway. They said they'll do it for free but after seeing all that snow I insisted on paying them.
Gina Janine Unger Tock - My husband died suddenly a month ago and yesterday, my neighbor who just had cataract surgery plowed me out so I could get my snowblower to the repair shop.....thank God for thoughtful people.
Rachel Mayer - Our snowblower would not start and so the shovels got used. After the street was plowed, our neighbor kindly cleaned out the end of our driveway with his snowblower. Thankful, as two of my kiddos take the bus and need the whole driveway cleared to board and disembark.
Sheryl Bayer Ransley - I'm a nurse and I got stranded in a subdivision in Livonia on my way to work. Three total strangers came out of their homes to help me and my friend and her two young children trudged through the snow with shovels to come help me. I was there about 40 minutes. Thanks to them I made it out safe and I got to work.
Michelle Schoenhals - My friend had a choice of hitting the car in front of her or hit the snow bank. she went for the snow and got stuck. Within 5 min 2 people stopped and helped her out. She was on her way to work.
Alberta Williams Lumetta - I'm in my 70's. The best neighbors in the world live next door. The Sadowski Family always make sure our driveway and sidewalks are cleaned. And a few other neighbors as well. GREGG, MARIE, AND TOM, THANK YOU.
Jaemia Kels - I witnessed a gentleman hop out of his car in front of me and help a stranger that was stuck in the snow. The gentleman pushed the stranger's truck until he was free. I witnessed a great deal of kindness yesterday. Two of my neighbors assisted me by digging out my car. We were all victims of a plow truck. I paid it forward. It was nice to see people helping each other yesterday!!

Nicole Ladson - When it snows my next door neighbor shovels his patio, my patio and his other neighbor's patio. We live in an apartment and the snow removal service doesn't plow the snow on the patio. Sometimes when the plow service doesn't plow our back pathway he shovels the area that connects to our patio. All three of us have dogs.
