Alcohol found in car involved in fatal crash inside Stony Creek Metro Park

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – Investigators told Local 4 that alcohol was found inside a car that crashed inside Stony Creek Metro Park. Three teenagers were killed in the accident.

Five Utica Community High School students were inside the car when it crashed inside the park Friday night. Two others remain hospitalized and are listed in critical condition.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office said it is waiting on toxicology tests to find out if alcohol played a factor in the crash.

Deputies said they are still trying to determine who was driving when the car lost control and hit a guardrail.

A vigil was held Saturday night for the victims. There will be grief counselors available Monday at four Utica high schools.
