TROY, Mich. – Troy police say a homeowner stopped an invader in the act last week after his alarm company called to tell him there was a burlgary in progress at his home.

Police say the man happened to be close by his home in the 6600 block of Crooks Road when his alarm company called him Tuesday afternoon. The man went home, retrieved his rifle from his bedroom and orderd the invader into his living room. He called 911 and held the invader at gunpoint until police arrived.

Police say the bedroom had been ransacked and items including coins and jewelry were staged in a manner that they were going to be taken.

The invader -- a 44-year-old St. Clair Shores man -- was arrested. He is expected to face home invasion charges.
