Sterling Heights Stevenson reeling from tragedy

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – Stevenson High School students in Sterling Heights are learning a difficult lesson Monday about dealing with tragedy.

The parking lot was packed at Stevenson for a vigil, not only for Jonathan Manolios and Emanuel Malaj who were killed in the Stony Creek crash, but also senior Jack Parry. He was severely injured in a separate accident Friday night.

"I just feel helpless … helpless is how I feel," said Lisa Kambers, a Stevenson parent.

Kambers said her son seems to be dealing with the loss of his friend, but her daughter is still struggling with the tragedy.

Grief counselors will continue to be available at the school this week to work with students.
