911 dispatcher helps Trenton teen save dad's life

TRENTON, Mich. – A 14-year-old girl was able to save her father's life by following CPR instructions from a 911 operator.

Dave Taft is a retired cop with a history of cardiac and seizure problems. When he collapsed in front of his daughter Selena, she called 911.

Kim Harris, a Trenton dispatcher, kept Selena calm and talked her through the process of saving her father's life.

Dave Taft's extremities were cold to Selena's touch. He had been out for four minutes when she pressed her lips to his. About 90 seconds later, he woke up.

Two weeks later, Taft and Harris met for the first time.

Selena Harris: "You were so incredible that night."
Taft: "I would have lost him if not for you.
Selena Harris: No, it was you. You guys truly have made my job worth doing.

Selena still worries about her dad, but he couldn't be more proud.

"I knew she was strong," he said. "She's my daughter."
