Local mother charged with driving drunk with 6-year-old daughter in car

SUMPTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Canton Township woman was charged with driving drunk while her six-year-old daughter was in the car Tuesday.

Sumpter Township police say Renee Mildred Field, 34, was charged with operating while intoxicated, her second offense, and operating while intoxicated with an occupant under 16.

Field was arrested on Sunday after she allegedly drove with her daughter to the 17000 block of Sumpter Road from Canton Township while drunk to continue an argument with her boyfriend.

Police say Field's bodily alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit of .08.

Field is being held on bond. Her pre-trial is set for July 1.
