Storm threat ends tonight; Nice day Friday in metro Detroit

DETROIT – Thunderstorms will move south of us before midnight tonight as a cold front chases all the wet weather south.

High pressure behind the front will drop our humidity by tomorrow morning.

Friday forecast:

Friday will be one of the nicest days in our forecast, although cooler, with highs in the low 70s. Sunshine returns tomorrow too!

Weekend forecast:

The weekend forecast has a few changes. We may see a shower on Saturday, but it will be late, most likely in the evening. Although most of us will remain dry.

Sunday, which is Father's Day and the official start of Summer, will have a few more showers and possibly a thunderstorm. And the timing on those look to be early. So take dad out for dinner instead of lunch if you want to avoid getting wet.

Monday forecast:

After looking dry for several days, Monday now looks to include at least a chance of a thunderstorm. It's too early to tell what time that will arrive or how much of us will see it. But temperatures for almost all of the next work week will be very consistent, with highs around 80 and lows in the low 60s.
