DETROIT – DTE Energy says more than 72,000 customers who lost power due to strong winds and heavy rain have had their power restored, but 14,000 customers are still without power.
The majority of those customers without power are expected to have it restored by late Tuesday night, but small clusters of customers won't get power back until Wednesday.
DTE says 70 linemen from Ohio and Indiana will join 500 DTE linemen in the effort to restore power on Tuesday.
Several downed power lines have been reported across DTE's SE Michigan service area. Customers are reminded to stay at least 20 feet away from all power lines and anything in contact with power lines.
Customers can report an outage and check on outage statuses on the DTE outage map.
